What really annoys you in your city : RN 7

The topic of the month is “What really annoys you in your city”: In Evy the RN7. For two reasons:
1) The RN7 cut the town of Evry in two. “This band-width, noisy, polluting and insuperable, reinforces the cut between the east and the west of the city” (c) Evry news new city.
2) Airparif (inspection Network of the quality of the air in Island of France) noted that the RN7 contributes to
the emission of various pollutants (the nitrogen Dioxide level (N02) dangerous for health is located at an average of 39, for allowed standards by OMS with 40. A maximum peak of even 198 A noted the 21/11/2001.)

It is hard for me to relate given I walk to work and fight no traffic. In the past I have had some difficult commutes but for the last year walking has saved the annoyance.

the photos on the top look very beatuiful, though it is an annoyed road in your city.
:))
I think the governors should think more and deeper before they decide to build some big factories or constructs....like this road N7.

Good choice Olivier.
Big highways are very nasty to a city's landscape and quality of life (for non-drives that is).
Many cities have begun building these highways underground. At least that way they don't look SO bad...

Anonyme a dit…

So this crime of cutting communities in two exists in France as well.

Sounds bad to me. :)

It is annoying. Good choice Olivier!

very nice photos

That's a high level of pollutants. Has there been a noted increase of illness since the RN7 was built?

Great post, Olivier. I have learned something important about Evry. Very nice grouping of images. I like the purple sky in the night shots and the green beltways of the day shots. Kudos!

its cruel when a busy, noisy highway is in the city

Yes, very annoying. I am participating but am not on the list !

Great idea to include the map of Evry - it clearly shows the division between East and West. Which side are you on?

Deb a dit…

Inserting major roadways into a cityscape is challenging, but when the road cuts a town in half and is not pleasing to the eye, then it is indeed annoying!

Unknown a dit…

just like isabella, i would like to know which side are you on :-)

a highway in the middle makes crossing over quite difficult doesn't it?

angela a dit…

So you have a motorway down one side of your town and a highway through the middle. Not funny!
Good choice, though.

oui, je la vois maintenant - jolie maison! Est elle vraiment rouge;-)))

Unknown a dit…

thanks for updating the map Olivier, now we know where your house is :-)

is amedee at home today? or amedee went to New York for holiday again hehe...

It seems that highways are a necessary evil. Hate the pollution but like the convenience.

you always give us a complete information ^^

Dsole a dit…

yeah i agree with you.. sometimes it seems like they make cities for cars instead for the people living there!
Nice post!

don a dit…

rotterdam has almost the same problem. You can drive into the heart of rotterdam with your car and the highways ar blocking the city
good choise it is a internationaal problem i think

Sally a dit…

Seems likea very familiar problm. We have communities where kids are expected to walk to school across such community-dividers!

In Albuquerque two interetate freeways criss cross. It I-25 goes North/South and the I-40 goes East/West! And this crossover happens right in the middle of the city! So I understand! I like your photo for today!
