Yesterday evening, it was not yet the full moon, but the Waxing gibbous Moon(A lunar cycle is consisted of the phases of the Moon : New moon, Waxing Crescent Moon , First Quarter Moon, Waxing gibbous Moon, full moon, Waning gibbous Moon, Third Quarter Moon and finally Waning Crescent Moon). The phases of the Moon correspond to its portions illuminated by the sun which are visible Earth. The Moon turning orbits about it around the Earth, these portions do not cease changing according to the position of the star. A lunar cycle is also called a lunation.

The moon is so bright and full tonight. I could almost read a newspaper by its light. Nice shot of the moon shrouded in clouds.

It seems that there is another source of light at your right.

I must read later your writing again,
but the photo is fine. I can not manage with moon - in photos, I mean :)
Have a nice, clear day, Olivier!

Merci.

Since stating my Daily Photo blog I have started paying more attention to lunar cycles. However, I feel the need to know more. I may start tracking the lunar cycle on my Outlook calendar given I have found some of my best nighttime photos have been on nights with a clear sky and a full moon.

Great lighting, Olivier. I can imagine the city glowed.
