The castle battle, the side entrance. Looking on the postcard, one sees a gorgeous veranda, which was stolen. The roof collapsed leaving now replaced by a tarp. All entries are sealed, you can just enter a room with a huge fireplace, room completely tagged.
Soon, this building will become a luxury residence. Good news, the facade of the building will change ("the envelope will be restored but no amended "), the park will also be an embellishment (hope it will remain freely accessible). The great project of restoration of the castle began now. So to follow ....

Let's hope it gets restored back to its former glory.

It's a huge place isn't it?

:( oh how sad to see such a grand structure go to waste. Perhaps someone will pay attention and rescue it.

PeterParis a dit…

claude a dit…

the video was great idea! Thank you for sharing Olivier

A bientôt.

Stunning photography, Olivier. You have captured the best images.

Thanks for visiting my blog and for commenting there about our wedding anniversary.

"Louis", like many of the others commenting, is happy to read that the château will be restored. It is sad that the graffiti defaces so much of modern life - something of an allegory for the times in which we live, n'est-ce-pas?

Wow, thats going to take a lot of work. It sure was beautiful, hopefully it will be again.

This once was a beautiful place, and in a way, it is stilll beautiful in its state of neglect. It is like a sad song. I love the photo with the cat in the foreground.

Je suis désolé, Olivier !
Yummy = délicieux, ou il goûte bon. I don't write French well, but does this help?

That's good news! I'm glad it will be restored and hopefully the public will have access to it. It's a beautiful structure. Enjoy your long weekend Olivier et je te souhaite un bon Bastille Day!

Marguerite-marie a dit…

Olivier, beautiful photography! I caught how you feel about it. Let's hope the best!

Rafe Totengco a dit…

I hope this castle is restored. It would be such a pity if it were demolished.

Alain a dit…

Beautiful old structure. I like it even as it is without the graffiti!

what a lovely old place, so glad they plan to preserve the outer envelope at least. Please keep us posted on the progress of this project, it will be interesting to see how it turns out!

Bonjour Olivier!

Kitty a dit…

is that a cat in the front yard of your top photo?

just amazing you can have a castle just sitting there. It'll be neat to see the finished product!

Such a beautiful chateau. Love all the detail. I so hope it gets restored one day, Olivier. Interesting you posted an old postcard. I bought two of Gorbio today only to leave them behind in a bar - see the story on Menton. Grrrrrrr

Bon 14 Juillet, Olivier.

Anonyme a dit…

Marie a dit…

Gudl a dit…

I am glad it will be restored and used again. It looks so pretty.
