Exposition des oeuvres de frere Yves #1

Le Centre National d'Art Sacre de la cathédrale présentait une exposition "Quand l'Art sacre contemporain prend sa source dans l'art roman" des œuvres de Frère Yves de la communauté bénédictine de l'Abbaye de la Pierre qui Vire (Yonne).
Frère Yves, Pierre VITRY, est né en 1923 à Valenciennes. Il perd son père à l'âge de quatre ans, sa mère à l'âge de dix ans. Cette dernière a pourtant eu le temps de lui communiquer son goût pour le dessin.....(Suite demain)

The National Center of Sacred art of the cathedral presented an exposure “When the contemporary Sacred art takes its source in the Romanesque art” of works of Brother Yves of the community bénédictine of the Abbey of Pierre-Qui-Vire (Yonne).
Brother Yves, Pierre VITRY, was born in 1923 with Valencians. He loses his father at the four years age, his mother at the ten years age. The latter however had time to communicate its taste for the drawing to him......(continuation tomorrow)

I like this art very much. The colours are bold, and the figures are so contemporary. Benedictine communities are also so welcoming!

I like the orange and yellow colors. The paintings look very African to me but I know Brother Yves is French.

Je vais te dire : frère Yves a gardé le regard et le talent de l'enfance...
Ses oeuvres sont composées comme on devrait composer les photos et à la fois sont toutes simples.
Très apaisantes
Le prêtre qui nous a marriés et baptisé nos enfants était père blanc et ensuite cistercien
Lorsqu'il a baptisé notre dernier fils, il était moine
Sur son visage sur son attitude se lisait une sérénité que je ne lui avais jamais vue
Et pourtant c'est un ami d'enfance.

Interesting drawing style, but very nice. I love everything that has to do with Christianity anyway! The one drawing shows us the cross, it reminds us about what Jesus did on the cross for mankind.
