This water tower (being Street of the Barbot Madness) was useful has the irrigation of the kitchen gardens of the castle of the Turrets. This castle and its kitchen gardens were destroyed by the Germans in 1944 and the tower water (of a score of meters) was restored in 1984 following the construction of the allotment of the Barbot Madness. It does not function any more and belongs now to the town of Evry.

Fantastic water tower! Ours look like a big can. This one looks like someone could live inside.

Even a water tower is so finely constructed. I agree with lavender lady`s and Andrew`s opinion about your blog :)

There are some historic water towers in the States as well (Chicago come to mind), and some of them are turned into museums and art galleries.
What purpose does this château d'eau serve now?
