Quartier du Canal : l'ecole paul Gauguin

L'ecole paul Gauguin est une ecole Maternelle et une ecole primaire.
On trouve entre les deux ecoles, une sculpture "la sphère" du plasticien Weil, installée en 1983.
Cette sphere ce trouve au centre d'un patio rond à 16 colonnes.
La Sphere est faite en platre ciment de 3 metres de diametre.
La sphere est creuse avec un effet d'escalier.

Le Quartier du Canal

Hier je vous ai presente le Canal qui donna son nom au 'Quartier du canal' dans la ville de Courcouronnes.
Quartier construit dans les années 1982, autour de l'hôpital Louise Michel d' Evry-Courcouronnes.
On compte en gros dans les 9000 habitants dans ce quartier.
Une des specificités de ce quartier, c'est que la hauteur moyenne des batiments depasse rarement les 3 etages.

Yesterday I have present the Channel to you which gave its name to the “District of the channel” in the town of Courcouronnes.

Le canal

Le Canal se trouve dans le 'Quartier du Canal' à Courcouronnes.
Ce canal est un bassin de regulation des eaux pluviales. Il a ete construit en 1982.
Ce plan d'eau est traité à la façon d'un pastiche des canaux du nord de la France.

L ancienne ecole communale de Courcouronnes

Courcouronnes est une ville qui touche Evry, on parle souvent d'Evry-Courcouronnes.

Avant la révolution de 1789, le maître d'école enseignait dans une maison qui appartenait à la famille Biort.
De 1789 à 1833, la ville n'est plus autorisée à pratiquer l'enseignement qui est dévolu au clergé. La commune n'ayant pas de prêtre, la mairie met tout en oeuvre pour que les enfants reçoivent une instruction.
En 1841, la municipalité loue une maison au sieur Herbelot, après avoir tenté de s'associer avec Lisses et Bondoufle pour la création d'une maison-école.
En 1859, Mr Decauville vend un terrain à la commune, ce qui permettra de construire une ecole attenante au bâtiment de la mairie datant de 1855.
Cette batisse abrite aujourd'hui la poste du centre ville.
A cette epoque, l'école se limitait à 4 tables et leurs bancs, un tableau noir, six ardoises et quelques cartes murales.
Voila ce bâtiment maintenant.

The old elementary school of Courcouronnes

Courcouronnes is a city which touches Evry, one often speaks about Evry-Courcouronnes.

Before the revolution of 1789, the schoolmaster taught in a house which belonged to the Biort family.
From 1789 to 1833, the city is not authorized any more to practise the teaching which deals with the clergy. The commune not having a priest, the town hall puts all works about it so that the children receive an instruction.
In 1841, the municipality rents a house with the sior Herbelot, after having tried to join Lisses and Bondoufle for the creation of a house-school.
In 1859, Mr. Decauville sells a ground with the commune, which will make it possible to build a school contiguous to the building of the town hall going back to 1855
This masonry shelters today the post office of the centre town.
At that time, the school was limited to 4 tables and their benches, a blackboard, six mural slates and some charts.
