Since October 2007, the town of Evry launched the renovation of The castle of the Turrets and its park. I did see The castle of the Turrets before work (see post on January 19, 2007). I do not know about you, but it makes me think of a castle Barbie ;o).

Olivier,
It does seem to be a smaller version some how. Does someone live there? It looks like a TV antennae on the roof. IT's lovely, but I think we need to know more about this Barbie castle1

A castle Barbie?! Well, just call me Barbie then. I'd be happy to call it home.

It's lovely...It will be interesting to see the end product.

Amazing architecture Olivier. I think Barbie would be very happy in that castle.

The castle was totally destroyed (a part this round) by the Germans in 1944.

Oh dear, yes I agree with you, Olivier. Hopefully, with time, the stonework will age and it will look a little more as it did. Thank goodness, we do restore beautiful old buildings - otherwise, we'd lose them forever - but restoration does need to be done with sympathy and care for the original.

Thankyou for your comments, Olivier. First I don't want a Prince!

Secondly, and especially, thankyou for your kind comment today on Menton. I wish I could take photographs as you do - of night concerts. I'll post one tomorrow and another the next day - I'm slowly learning but not up to your 'concert standard' yet.

That is so beautiful!
It is great that it will be renovated.
I just looked through your other posts. All very nice! I am just so busy lately, not much time to blog!

Very nice, is that part of the entrance? I like the music you picked to go with it.

It's something to do with the turrets and all that pink...I used to have a dolls house a bit like this when I was little..

Debbie Courson Smith a dit…

Paint it purple and pink and it does look just like a little girl toy castle.

beautiful!!!!! very!!!

For some reason it looks much bigger in the old postcard.

Did some parts of it fall into such disrepair that they've been knocked down?

It looks like the rennovations are going well at least!

Barbie's castle, that's funny! Hopefully they'll let people inside once it is finished and you can give us the inside view too.

M. CHRISTOPHE a dit…

"but it makes me think of a castle Barbie"

With those sweet colors, I can understand why. My nieces will love this castle! ;)

Nathalie H.D. a dit…
