I discovered this by accident garden (To come to Manhattan, it's a real way of the cross: Take the subway 1 / 9 until the 231st Street. Then take bus Bx7/Bx10 Carrefour northeast of the 231st street and Broadway, until the 252nd streets. Cross the bridge from the highway and turn left. Walking south on the service road along the scenic route. Turn right on 249th and continue until the entry Primary Wave Hill ..... Ouf): At my first visit to NYC (May 2001), I wanted to visit the Bronx, but with everything we read it in France (A district dangerous in war continues), I decided to go through a guided tour. The tour starts, then to the Broxn and our first stop: Wave Hill ..... Whether surprise for me to see this part of the Bronx (after I visited the other face of the Bronx, but it remains a superb district NYC), and since I am in love with this Garden (I even wrote the article on Wave Hill for the encyclopedia Wikipedia french). Let me introduce one of my favorite places in New York.

I went to the Bronx Botanical Garden many years ago to attend a lecture on natural pharmaceutical products (pharmacie au natural?) and it was like you described, it was beautiful.

Beautiful place to visit. I'm glad you were able to visit it. How nice to see Amedee there with Mark Twain, Toscani and Darwin....

Isn't it great to get this excited about somewhere so interesting and beautiful? I believe it to be food for the soul.

Glückwünsche ! Du bist ein wahrer internationaler Journalist
! Ja ! Ja !

You are getting around like a native New Yorker. Great photos.
Did you have a chance to quiz Amedee re. my "blue jeans" blog to see if he does have a cousin in the USA? A number of bloggers thought it might actually be a relative of his! Yes, the jacket would look smashing on Amedee!

Je pensai déjà avoir commenté... mais non! This is really different from what you imagine about Bronx, but I believe it's getting more residential towards the north! A fantastic place described by someone who loves it!

I did not know of this place, Oliver. How lovely. Perhaps the next time I visit, I too will get to discover this lovely place.

Such lovely photos! Wave Hill is one of my favorite places in New York too. I have a friend who works there, so I have visited it quite a bit. You are right, it is difficult to get to from Manhattan, but it is worth it. It is lovely in any season! I'm glad Amedée has joined the list of famous people who have spent time at Wave Hill.

Trop beau ! Je ne connaissais pas du tout !

Olivier là, tu me bluffes.

This looks absolutely beautiful. Definitely a place to put on my list if I ever get to the city.

I'm enjoying looking through your blog and recognize a few words from my French class from many, many years ago!

Wonderful post. I have to admit that I have never visited this beautiful place. The long, complicated trip to get there (like all places in the Bronx) has always put me off, but perhaps I will make it there someday. Until then, thanks for taking me to Wave Hill.
